HONORING SAMUEL A. WILLIAMS
THE SWILL FOUNDATION
Today is the opportunity to build the tomorrow you want
- Ken Piorot

The vision behind The SWILL Foundation is driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the roads a safer place for all. We strive to build productive relationships within the community and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits. Our focus and commitment is not only preventing DUI related crashes, but addressing the impact on family, friends and first responders.

"Act as if what you do makes a difference. IT DOES!"
WHAT WE DO
Making A Difference

The secret to getting ahead is getting started.
-Mark Twain
ONE STEP AT A TIME. March 13th is the anniversary of the vehicle crash that eventually took Sam's life. To honor Sam and the loss we all suffered, in Kansas the cities of Merriam, Mission, Overland Park, Prairie Village and Johnson County Sheriff participated in a DUI saturation. A saturation is different than a check lane. A check lane is at a specific location, whereas a saturation is more officers saturating their cities with the specific intent of looking for impaired drivers.
The RESULTS of the 3/13/21 saturation:
51 Stops
41 Citations (all not just DUI)
18 Field sobriety testing
14 DUI arrests
4 Other arrests (non-DUI related)
It is my goal to work with these cities and more in the future to make this an annual event.
Thank you to these cities for participating in my efforts to make our community safer one step, one day at a time!!!
